nus chs econs and smu econs
hear me out, i know there's alot of posts about this already and the concerns are around the same but i am still super conflicted about which sch to choose. contrary to popular belief (most parents have a bias towards nus) my parents want me to choose smu so that it can train me to speak better for the future workforce. ofc i agree la but theres just so many parts of NUS that i am thinking about.
many of my friends are going to NUS, and nus has hall life... nus just feels like a proper school compared to smu which feels like a workforce. I feel that i will have more fun in nus, especially im considering staying in the nus accommodations (house/hall) with a friend. with more people i know, it would be easier to meet for lunch during breaks etc...
but another concern is, is it true that nus graduates cant speak well/perform well to obtain jobs when they graduate? (compared to smu at least) and is it easy to get internships in nus? does nus offer internship opportunities/ internship portals? does nus really lack the speaking skills that smu offers? but i also really hate the concept of class part despite how much i know it will help me in the future. personally i think i can speak up and loud when necessary, but not those super extroverted people who proactively speak up.
but now im wondering, do i wanna have fun in sch life or do i want to buy "life insurance" that can protect me in future workforce? i have been considering for a good 1.5 months and cannot make up my mind, even went to smu destination day today and i feel they quite try hard to want students to accept them.
i also heard a lot of ppl say that smu is only good for their business sch, not so much for econs sch. but similarly i dont hear many good things about nus econs, is the nus econs department really that weak?
