Scent Board Update: Personal Formula Journal & Materials Library

Hi everyone!I posted here earlier about the scent-board.com app and asked for feedback, and it was extremely helpful for further improvements. I want to say thank you to everyone who took part!Right now, the app is your personal diary for recording and calculating formulas, as well as a materials library. No AI features or other unnecessary clutter.I tried to make the interface as clean and intuitive as possible, and everyone can customize it to fit their own workflow. I use paid database storage services, and all formula data and material notes are available only to the specific registered user. The only thing I can see is the user’s email, so I can help if any issues come up.This is in no way meant to replace working in Excel. If you are used to working there, that is completely fine, but for some people, this more visual format may be more convenient.Below, I’d like to tell you a bit more about the current features.

User profile page. Here you can see the latest projects and formulas the user has worked on. Deleted formulas and material records are also stored here, kind of like a trash bin. You can also change the app theme from this page.

Your materials library. Here, users can add their own materials to the library and record all information about each material. One useful feature is that you can add multiple materials at once by writing them in a single line using the Bulk Import button. There is also a tagging system: users can assign tags to each material and create their own custom tags. After that, they can sort and filter materials by tags. The entire materials library also has smart search implemented, allowing users to search through material descriptions.

To describe a material, click on its card. From there, you can choose its concentration, family, intensity, and longevity, as well as add a general description and notes on how the scent changes over time.Everything can also be described using voice input.

Next is the Projects page. Here, users can create and store their projects. There are two types of projects available: Table view and Canvas view.

Table View , there is nothing too experimental here, it is simply a table-based workflow. You add components from the left column, enter the amount in grams and the concentration, and then you can calculate the formula for different perfume concentrations and final volumes. After that, you can export the formula to your computer or save it to your library.

Canvas Board is another option for working on a project. It is a free workspace where you can create frames with formulas, attach notes, and add photos for a more visual overview. This approach is probably better suited for people who are already familiar with canvas-style apps. Personally, I find it convenient to see all formula iterations on one board and make notes directly in the same place. There is also a formula export function.

After saving a formula, it will be sent to your library, where you can describe it in detail.

There are also two additional themes: Dark and Cream.

That is everything for now. At the moment, I am working on integrating IFRA libraries to make the system as accurate and automated as possible.

I would be very happy to hear any feedback, because last time it genuinely helped me shift the focus and improve the app. Link: scent-board.com

I want to continue developing this woody accord and continue it in a more tobacco direction. Overall I like it now, but I want to make it rougher and more dark. I’m thinking of replacing the Frankincense Fleuressence because it gives a coniferous/pine nuance that, in my opinion, doesn’t fit here.

The idea is tree bark coated in resin with tobacco. What problems can you currently see in the formula? For the tobacco note, I have Tobacco Signature Absolute 10%.
