So I am having trouble with my 2008 Hyundai Elantra. My car was driving just fine when suddenly it just stopped working in a parking lot. So for context, my friend turned the key while my foot wasn’t on the brake and it was sitting like that for a couple of minutes. Then when I tried starting it, the whole dashboard just started bleeping and making noises and wouldn’t start. We needed to get it jumpstarted and then I could drive it back home. Then again after a couple of days I tried starting it and ran into the same people. I had someone come in and look and they said the battery got disconnected from one of the links (?) and hence the problem. He fixed the joint and then jumped it and the car was running. Asked me to keep it running for 30 mins which I did and then went back in. I come back a couple of hours later and it’s the same problem. Now I am not sure what’s going on. Battery or alternator or something else entirely? Does anyone have any vague guesses as to what could it possibly be? I do need to take it to a mechanic but there aren’t many that people can recommend and the ones that are suggested are all super expensive and out of my budget.

So my car’s dashboard seems to just bleeping whenever I try to start it. It got fixed one time after being jumpstarted but that’s it. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? It’s no longer starting so it will have to be towed to a mechanic. I also have AAA membership so I am wondering if it might be a better idea to give them a call first.
P.S I know nothing about cars and started driving pretty recently. Any advice is much appreciated.
