Dead site is alive on Bing. Rebuild or move on?
Would appreciate any thoughts or advice on the below from the community.
A few months ago, I built an test site to try and capture some B2B searches in a niche. Scaling content to a template in a B2B solutions directory type play.
Surprisingly (at the time), it went from zero to 100 clicks a day (and lots of actual engagement) to zero visibility on Google in the space of a week or so. Now I have only 5 have indexed pages (out of 3000 crawled not indexed). It was a test for me to see if AI content at scale (publishing 3k pages in a week) would rank and then tank a site. It did.
But weirdly the site is still getting real traffic from bing, chat gpt, claude etc. Around 30 visits a day - I observe these through MS clarity. Just nothing from Google. People are actually engaging with the site too. Several CMO's from large orgs have submitted their solutions through a "submit tool" form I built into it.
My thesis here is the site is still indexed on Brave and Bing so its being picked up occasionally in LLMs that use these.
The intent of page obvious makes sense. People are looking for this exact kind of directory and vendors seem to want to be present on it
I feel if i could get this thing indexed on google again it would be great.
So my question is. Would you try to somehow get this reindexed? I feel this is likely impossible and the domain is burned.
Would you rebuild. Maybe on a new domain? I can see a path to business value for this site if it worked. Niche is very valuable.
Or just chalk this down as an expierment and forget it.
