working on a new app for Canadians, very little experience
Hey y’all — I’ve been investing for a few years now and honestly got pretty tired of how fragmented everything feels in Canada.
Right now I have accounts split across multiple brokerages because every platform does something better than the others. Wealthsimple is great for CAD stocks and simplicity, IBKR is way better for USD investing and fees, crypto is its own mess entirely, and then FHSA/TFSA/non-registered tracking becomes annoying fast. I found myself building stupid Excel sheets just to answer basic questions about my own money.
A lot of the apps out there also feel incomplete. You can track stocks, but not private assets. Or crypto but not real estate. Or net worth but not account-specific analytics. There’s no real “everything dashboard” that feels modern and actually works well for Canadians.
So I started building www.unifolio.pro literally today
The goal is to create a platform that pulls together all your financial accounts/assets into one place:
- brokerage accounts
- crypto
- FHSA / TFSA / RRSP analytics
- real estate + vehicle valuations
- physical assets/metals/watch collections
- live asset appraisals through APIs where possible
- unified net worth + portfolio analytics
- eventually AI insights/planning tools
Basically a Bloomberg terminal for normal people, but focused on Canadians and personal finance rather than traders.
The UI is still extremely early and barebones, and I have very little experience building something at this scale, so I’m mainly posting because I want honest feedback:
- what pisses you off about investing platforms?
- what features do you wish existed?
- what would actually make you switch/use something like this?
- what do current apps completely fail at?

TL;DR: Canadian investor tired of juggling Wealthsimple, IBKR, crypto apps, and spreadsheets — building an all-in-one Canadian net worth + portfolio analytics platform that tracks basically everything in one place. Looking for brutally honest feedback and feature ideas.
