Tl;dr: ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS call a local florist with a verifiable address in the area you’re looking to deliver flowers to.
A few days ago, I ordered flowers for my grandma for Mother’s Day. The “florist” was Ava’s Florist, which appeared to have good Google reviews, and their website looked like a low-budget florist, with text appearing in their logo suggesting they were based in the small town my grandma lives in.
I should’ve checked Reddit instead — I paid well over $100 for this “arrangement,” which she was very happy with and thankful to receive.
Meanwhile, I saw red. After I went ballistic on the phone and threatened Ava’s with a chargeback, they gave me a full refund (though threatened to send the florist back to her house to collect the arrangement lmao.) I’m pretty embarrassed that she got this for Mother’s Day instead of anything near the beautiful arrangement I was hoping for. Lesson learned.
