I havent gotten my hands on the new books that mention it yet but how does the last wall protocol actual work?

What happens to the Crimson fists and the Black Templars ?

Does Pedro and the boys just paint everything yellow and get after it ? Do the Successors just cease to exist or is it just a temporary work together thing until a certain objective is achieved ?
