I find some teenagers annoying. I find some teenagers obnoxious. I find some teenagers entitled. I have all my qualms with teenagers, but for every shitty teenager, there's 1.5 adults that behave the same way!!! And no one tries to generalize y'all.... But God forbid the 16 year old McDonald's worker gives you a Look that makes you feel slightly self conscious. At your grown age. Or wears something funky. Then y'all love to rave about what the youth of today has turned to. I feel like you guys forget that obnoxious teenagers usually grow up to be equally obnoxious adults... And I find it incredibly funny when someone jumps to be like "Well, I was annoying as a kid, and now I'm - " Are you?
The only good thing you get out of all the shitty things you're forced to go through as a legal minor is the fact that you get to be an equal dick to everyone who is legally a minor. Some of y'all cling onto that privilege like it's the only thing you have left... Pisses me off!! Stop making the fact that you got bullied in school every teenager's problem. You live with your parents and can't schedule a doctor's appointment by yourself, Mr. Mature McBitch McGee. You can barely string together a decent sandwich. Do not talk to me about maturity and how hard adult life is!!! I don't care!!! I wish there was a way to tell adults to die in war like you tell men to do when they start whining and bitching about how hard they have it compared to women. I don't care.
Don't get me started on adults online... I cannot emphasize how little I care about minors in adult spaces. We get it. Oh my fucking God. This conversation has been had a million times and y'all are inching closer and closer to creating a new slur with each one. You could be talking about systemic child abuse and the deep neglect you and your friends face at the hands of CPS and there'd still be some asshole blabbering about Bbbbbbbut sssssnot-nosed MINORS are looking at my PORN...
SHUT UP? Why in God's name do you feel the need to advertise your Fucked Up Totes 18+ Exclusive (No Minorz Allowed!!!) bullshit under every post mentioning minors? Jerk off to what you will, it's a free country, but by God. You are insufferable and tone deaf. I hope the imaginary cop in your head comes alive and jails you simply so I do not have to hear from you again. Lord almighty.
I also hate the fact that you can't frame child abuse or the problems you face as a minor as a systemic issue rather than a tragic unfortunate unpreventable whoopsie. Or an inconvenience at best. I need to remind y'all that without a legal guardian's approval, you can't;
- Get any kind of medical care;
- Get a bus pass;
- Walk outside;
- Go to school;
- Buy your own prescriptions (or any kind of prescription);
- Access the internet;
And many more. Too many people find it normal, and justify it with what I can only describe as 1940s American Psychiatry talk. No, you must understand, the reason your legal guardians must approve your every waking move is because your brain is inherently smaller and lesser and incapable of critical thought. Your womanly hormonal emotions are gonna get the best of you. You must understand. We must limit every single right of yours that you could possibly think of because of it. You must understand.
Some of y'all were just dumb, I'm sorry to say this. And continue to be dumb. To the concerned parents... If your child is genuinely as incompetent and weak and stupid as you describe, then you should get them a psychological evaluation. The whole "your brain stops developing at 25" is widely known as some bullshit, but people still use it. Your brain never stops developing. The whole incompetence thing surrounding teenagers comes mostly from inexperience, and since you never want to put the poor teenager's poor feeble underdeveloped minds through any kind of hardship, learning experience or trouble, you leave them without any autonomy. This leaves them the same as before, which creates a fucked up feedback loop, and creates adults who are unconfident, terrified and unsure of what to do with their lives or how anything works.
A lot of it is just lazy parenting. Very few people actually have children thinking of them as people, they just cave to societal pressure or want a cute little human pet. Your teenage years are your designated fuck-around years. You should be doing at least some stupid shit, because that is how you learn. Trying to teach teenagers about hardship through making a new kind of boogeyman every month will just leave them with an anxiety disorder... They aren't children!!! Children need to be taught very fundamental things, since they don't have a successful danger drive... Hence why you need the boogeyman. The boogeyman should be used for things you simply cannot fuck around with, for a child. Teenagers have a fear drive, and a rational sense, and they can understand explanations just fine. Talk to your damn kids, and pay them some attention, and tune in with their lives!!!! Teenagers don't inherently hate their parents, a lot of you guys just suck shit from an ass and can't handle the fact that your child is now a fully fleshed human being with feelings and thoughts capable of challenging you.
