Hi friends!! Oct 25 - my then 15 month old got tubes in both ears for reoccurring ear infections. Since then, he has had 1-2 ear infections A MONTH, and we are recovering from our 5th round of strep throat since 11 months old. He doesn't sleep through the night, he has been on so many rounds of antibiotics, ear drops, antibiotic shots - all the things. We got an appointment at a DIFFERENT ENT office for a second opinion, and the doctor immediately said he was "in rough shape" and concerned about his hearing. Confirmed both tubes were out of place, and that tonsils are enlarged, and from videos I've taken of him snoring while he's asleep, sleep apnea. Last week at the pediatrician, she was adamant that there was nothing wrong with his tubes and said removing tonsils would be extreme. I felt heartbroken today at the ENT and so aggravated that every other NP, ENT, dr., etc. that we have seen the past 6 months has pushed us aside and just given antibiotics. We decided to do another ear tube placement, along with tonsil and adenoid removal in July after he turns 2.

My question is - has anyone dealt with this combination of procedures, at this age? Tubes were no problem the first go-around, mainly concerned about tonsils and adenoids, and what the recovery looks like, along with any tips or advice to keep him comfortable. I am really hoping this gives our little guy some relief - he truly needs it and I am starting to worry about hearing loss and speech development.
