Before anyone comes for me yes I’ve sifted through the archived posts and all the ones I found that were relevant to me I was not able to comment on anymore so please spare me because I’m about to lose my fucking shit ✋🙃 TL;DR: has anyone taken metformin to maintain/lose slight rebound weight?
I have PCOS, I lost ~75-80lb on Wegovy over the course of 18mo-2 years. I slowly came off of it and stopped completely in September. I’ve always exercised a bit, but since stopping I’ve been way more regimented and work out 5-7 days a week. Mostly 45min weight lifting routines, lighter days are 45min walks. My (healthy and balanced) diet is still the same as it was when I was in Wegovy, and I still eat the smaller/modified portion sizes.
DESPITE ALL THIS I’VE GAINED SOME WEIGHT BACK OH JOY!! Roughly 15-20lbs, surely some of it muscle because I feel stronger. But some of it is definitely fat and I’m bloated/distended constantly in the ways that I was pre-Wegovy (yes I eat anti-inflammatory and yes I’ve been tested for various food intolerances no I don’t have them).
Insurance won’t cover Wegovy again because duh, my bullshit BMI is healthy and I don’t have qualifying health conditions. Doc wants to try me on metformin to lose the bit of weight I’ve regained and maintain what I’ve lost, has anyone else been through this and successfully done it? Just trying to mentally prepare myself for this to either work or not work and I can’t seem to find posts that correspond to this.
