Medical malpractice case?
I am a 24 years old male in Connecticut.
I got an ACL reconstruction surgery (quad graft) done in April of 2024.
I came out of it with CRPS type 2, only discovered about 5 months post op because my surgeon refused to give me a referral to see a neurologist by the way even though I’d tell him my symptoms and how terribly bad of pain I’m in. I've seen every doctor (and several PTs) under the sun and not one has any clue what is going on. Multiple EMGs done and very clear evidence of nerve damage.
I've been in, and currently am in pain because of this procedure since. My quad is STILL atrophied despite the time it's been, keep in mind I was a bodybuilder and a full out athlete prior to this injury so I am definitely optimizing everything I can when it comes to my part at home with physical therapy and nutrition...I haven't been able to work since either because of this.
I've seeked multiple attorneys.. 16 to be exact. 14 of them didn't even bother to look at my case based off what I said, 2 of them spent months reviewing my records and said there isn't anything, and I currently have a new one investigating.
The reason for the 2 rejecting me is according to them and the experts they spoke with, the nerve blocker used in the surgery is what could've caused it, and "there is no wrong doing and shit happens."
What do I do? Do I actually have a case? How do they know what caused my CRPS just based off records? You're telling me a surgeon would put down "by the way I fucked up at so and so moment” ?
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.
