Im looking for series where the ML is actually horrible at the start dismissive, cruel, emotionally unavailable, etc. Not just “misunderstood,” but someone who genuinely hurts the FL or takes her for granted.

Then later he realizes he messed up badly and has to grovel for forgiveness. I want regret, desperation, and pathetic behavior.

I especially love

• the FL leaves or rejects him for a while
• there’s heavy angst
• the groveling actually lasts and isn’t resolved immediately
