UPDATE! Using Luma Locale Switcher to USA seems to have worked!!
I'll leave the post up, hope it helps others!

Running modded luma 13.4, all other games have worked so far.
I downloaded north america version MM + the north america update patch.
I turned off the Enable game patching option in luma settings, still crashes.

Any ideas?

Ideally I want to run the Majora fan patch mod, but cant try that because the stock game wont open to begin with.

Using New 3DS XL if that helps.
