My local LGS has a very lightly used sam5 for $1430 and I’m tempted to bite. It would most likely be my first and last AK as I mostly just want one because it feels weird not to have an ak in the collection and it feels even weirder not to have a full size counter part for my kp9. My main concern is how heavy I hear they get fully kitted out and how expensive of a rabbit hole that will take me down. How much I actually shoot it is dependent on how much I enjoy it after the first couple times of taking it out but if all goes well I’d probably put a sure shot mk3 chassis on it to bring the modularity up to what I’m used to with AR’s but again I’m concerned about it being too heavy to keep on target that 100-200 yards away.
