We needed 'Operation Shakti' to prove we could make a functional warhead out of the technology we demonstrated in 'Smiling Buddha'. Even there, it's rumoured that the Fusion Bomb fizzled-out.

US, USSR & China conducted hundreds of tests to mature their warhead technology. According to the US Intelligence - China, Russia and Pakistan still continue to conduct nuclear tests. But we Indians played nice and stopped after just two tests.

Now the crisis grows deeper, as we step into the MIRV domain with entirely untested warheads. MIRV Warheads require intricate miniaturisation technology which demands multiple rounds of testing.

What will we do now? Blast the bombs during natural seismic activity in an uninhabited area, or go with warheads based completely on computer simulations ?
