How do I read the pinout of this DIN 8 Pin connector correctly? (AUX project on Audiomedia AM 57R)
Hello everyone, I'm wiring a Bluetooth module to my vintage car radio (Audiomedia AM 57R) using a DIN 8 pin male connector.
I have a fundamental doubt about reading the pattern to avoid reversing the poles and burning everything.
My question is:
When I look at a technical scheme (like Blaupunkt/Unilink), does pin numbering refer to front view (male pin side) or back view (welding cups side)?
I'm currently proceeding to look at the plug from the welding side, with the cleat down. In this position, I'm following this logic:
Top left pin: +12V (Module Power).
Lower left pin: CD-Detect (to bridge the +12V and activate CDC mode).
Pin on the right: L/R audio signals.
The doubt:
If the pattern I find online was "front view" and I soldered "back view," I would completely reverse the right with the left and the 12V would end up on the audio pins. Is there a standard convention for these DIN connectors?
I attach photos of the connector in my hand and the socket on the radio. Thank you to anyone who helps me not to do a short circuit
