Probably a dumb question. Can I apply for a PhD if I have no direct experience with that demographic? (Psychology)

I want to apply for a psychology PhD, but my work experience is mostly around neurodiversity and a bit of mental health. I found a PhD around chronic pain and emotional distress and would really like to apply. Is this considered okay? it’s still within the psychology/ mental health subject area

I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me what industries/subjects my chart supports? I'm trying to get into a Doctorate, but I have been feeling very underconfident about my skills after a recent career setback.

i usually don’t have too many expectations from people for support cause eventually i know I’ll have to deal with things myself.

but these days it feels like even the higher power, or whatever you'd like to call it, has abandoned me. there is a sense of hopelessness and defeat, and I’m usually very resilient.

some insight would be great - pls don’t dm & refrain from any jokes.

thank u
