Hi, my family is full of avid readers. Recently my dad was telling me that the book that made him excited about reading was a chapter book read by an elementary school teacher. He described the book being about a boy and a man who went on adventures to different islands. He lived in Florida at the time. I was really hoping to figure it out so I could try to get a copy as he is now guardian of a young cousin. He was born in the early 60s so book is likely published close to then.
