Sapporo Accomodations for February please?
Trying to get in early and book our accomodation for the festival next February, but between all the apps I’m feeling absolutely inundated with hotel options.
It’s our first time in Hokkaido, and so I have no geographical info or logistics to guide me.
We’ll be in Hokkaido around a week (month trip total in Japan), and spend around 3 days in Sapporo specifically for the sculpture and light festivities there and (with a short commute) to Otaru. We’ll be moving south after that and changing hotels, then back down to Noribetsu before flying into Kansai.
Where do you recommend staying? Where have you enjoyed or which hotels do you not recommend? I’ve also considered AirBnBs but almost all seem to be 12kms or more away from the centre and I prefer not renting a car and driving in snow.
Occupants: Two + luggage (first stop so will have our luggage for the entire month with us)
Budget: Preferably under $1,000 for 3-4 days
Amenities: Own bathroom is our only non-negotiable for a multi-day stay. Preferably 24/7 front desk if a hotel but it’s a not a deal breaker.
