Last year my family was granted DV visas, and at the interview consular officer took biometrics from me, my wife, our 14yo daughter, but do not take biometrics from our 11yo son, because - explaining, that they do not take biometrics from minor younger than 14yo.
Fast forward to Feb, we arrive to the U.S. an within 3-4 weeks we received our GC by mail, through only my wife, my daughter and I received ours.
In my son's case, we received an appointment notice (Form I-797C) for the collection of his biometric data.
Can you tell my why they want to take biometrics from 11yo now, and why they do not take it while the visa processing stage, as they did for the rest of us? Is there any possibility of an exemption from this requirement?
