Hello, I am from the USA and my wonderful boyfriend is from Romania. I have not been to Romania and I do not speak Romanian (I only know English). I am so nervous to stay with his parents in Romania. Understandably, his father basically does not know English and his mother barely knows English. Basically, his mother is the one who is home mostly and is more excited to meet me. When I arrive in Romania, I want to go buy some flowers for his mother. However, I feel like I owe her a better gift alongside of the flowers; my boyfriend's family is having me for a few months. Also, I do not want to get her something pointless. Another thing, l don't think chocolates are a great gift because the chocolate in the USA definitely isn't better than chocolate elsewhere, lol; she also has already recently been gifted a lot of candy. Anyway, I want to show gratitude. I don't know if I am overthinking, but I don't want to make things awkward or uncomfortable. I am super nervous about the language barrier as well. Any tips? Thank you : )
