Romanian portrait circa 1903, significant damage
This painting was bought in a lot of miscellaneous items from an estate sale in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
It was removed from the canvas frame and placed on a cardboard back with plastic shrink-wrap at some point before it went to auction. I don’t want to remove it from that yet, so there are no pictures of the back, but from bits of the canvas that are curled up, it looks like a plain off-white, yellowed canvas.
It is relatively large at around +24” wide and +36” tall.
In the upper right it says: “Pictat de [Alf_Fl______?] 1903”
Apparently, this means it is a Romanian artist.
Google lens has not helped very much. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
