(Feedback wanted) More Rain World mod ideas cause I’m a teen who loves to play ecosystems to much.

I already made this yesterday but I’ve come up with more for anyone who’s interested likes modding and anyone who reads I want feedback on here and my other post to see if any of these are possible. Now time to list more ideas and you all are going to sit there, look pretty, and watch me fucking do it!

Scav wars (improvement on scav fights): Scavs can get into fights over stuff like spears, pearls, or food. and this can go from a little fight all the way to the whole group/pole fighting to the death. Now this would also change it so if you kill scavs and leave no witnesses you reputation won’t change. Plus other scav groups could attack and invade other groups over territory and resources.

These next 2 will fall into my mating idea (self explanatory but if you want details see my last post)

Evolution: it will work almost ex like real life. A blue Lizard that’s more cyan lives longer cause it looks more like a cyan lizard, or a perfectly Green lizard cause it can blend in with grass. (I’ll get to that last part)

Convergent Evolution: I’m not gonna describe the entirety of it (It’s actually really cool so I suggest looking it up) so for example crocodiles and alligators. They would (in this case) look like lizards but are just bigger and act and hunt WAAY differently and aren’t related at all.

Camouflage: Now for those who have played Rain World (why are you reading this if you haven‘t? If you want to make these mods real you gotta play the game) You al know of White Lizards, Pole Plants, Stowaways and Dropwigs. However what I mean by camouflage is that they use the environment not just to hunt but also as a safe place to quickly rest and hide. For instance say a Green lizard in green area. If they would want to rest they would hide some tall grass.

More Prey: This is definitely my weakest one but with how much predators there are in rain world it’s surprising how little prey there is. and without prey comes starvation. So I would suggest probably 20 something new prey for (some for the slugcat) predators to make this balanced. Oh also WAAY more herbivores. That would be great.

Here are (a lot) Rain World mod ideas that I thought up (help me)

Ecosystem & Creature Life

Mating ritual/season

We have a lizard egg mod but we could also have it expand to (Rot, Garbage Worms, Leeches and flora are excepted cause flora is self explanatory, Rot is cancer and Leeches are considered hazards in the wiki) where every 5 or 10 cycles baby versions of creatures could appear and for example if a lizard kills something it could bring it or give it to its baby. speaking of, mothers and fathers, some species have their babies with them and some don’t and bring food to their den for it.

Growing creatures

Maybe like a teen vulture only able to eat small prey and it’s mask is forming, or a baby lizard with a head that doesn’t resist spears yet.

Creatures can die of old age or at least get old

Say a vulture being slower and less aggressive, or a jetfish not really bullying you since their bodies need to save the few energy they have.

Mating rituals improved on

2 creatures will pair up and mate or at least be together by offering food following the other and will soon have a child during the mating season that can be groomed by the parent. Plus there can be fights over mates or one rejects the other.

Families

You can find a family of up to 2-4 adults and 2-5 pups, they can be found everywhere except Shoreline, Garbage Wastes, all of 5P except for the wall, and everywhere other region too dangerous for a slugcat. They will try to adopt you if you are Monk or Survivor but you can refuse by running. but if you do let them you will be fed, protected and friendly fire will not be on. also as Hunter they will be hesitant but will soon trust you.

Also they won’t become lethal when you kill/hurt one. Once you do they will throw spear. However you can steal a mask and all they will do is throw rocks and get it and run. They will not kill you if you don’t to them.

Creature AI & Behavior

Creatures aren’t always hostile

In real life a lot of predators aren't constantly in hunting mode. So I thought creatures once they have their food or aren't in their territory they’ll just let you go by as long as you don’t hurt them (or you go into their territory)

Creatures just hanging

Whether it’s a lizard sunbathing or a squidcada taking a bath. Just enjoying the few moments of peace.

Creature mistakes are more common

I don’t mean they fuck up 90% of the time but maybe a lizard will drop something when they swing it around or fall, or vulture occasionally will dive down on something thinking it’s prey.

Creatures can get exhausted

Like Gourmand but not to that level. If a lizard is chasing you for a while for say 1-2 minutes it would began to start trying to catch it’s breath or get slower until it gives up or passes out. (plus non aquatic creature can drown like this if in water)

Creatures can starve

This one might be more difficult cause of the ID thing but if this can work that we can have creatures that don’t get enough starve and randomly spaz out like the scug does or even die.

Centipedes actually kill for a reason

These fucks literally kill for no reason. so just maybe have them drag you to their den.

Scavenger conflicts

Maybe one of them is grumpy and pushes one and it just gets into a non fatal (or fatal) fight.

Creatures that mimic others to scare off predators

Like a Blue Lizard trying to appear like a cyan one.

Injuries, Persistence & Immersion

Injuries

If a creature survives (or doesn't’) they can have bite marks, scratch marks, piercings, bruises, you could find a lizard walking around a spear in its back and scratch marks or maybe a tooth missing.

Scug gets injuries

Say a lizard grabs you and you get out. You would have bite marks for a couple cycles. or you get hit with a rock. a little bruise there.

Knock outs and concussions

Not stunning or killing but if you throw enough debris at a creature’s head it will either faint or began getting dizzy and will go wrong ways and make a lot mistakes.

You and other creatures get dirty

Being the garbage wastes or other dirty places would cause you to smell or visually look dirty and can be washed by going in clean water or from the water from Karma Gates.

Skeletons

If a corpse is left or eaten by other creature it can slowly turn into a skeleton

Animal waste

What it sounds like. I get why some don’t want this but it’d make it more immersive I guess.

Food Chains & Eating

Scavenger eatings

I’ve found it weird that scavs don’t eat. So they could be found eating plants, lizards, maybe a vulture if their lucky. Hell they could bring food to their dens and or tolls to eat.

Herbivores eating

Literally the only time I see an all herbivore eat a plant is when you give a rain deer a spore shroom. So I thought you could find say a Squidcada eating a fruit, or a Noodlefly eating some tasty moss.

Aquatic prey

There’s literally only jellyfish that I’ve found that are prey for aquatic areas, it is just Shoreline.

Scavengers

Not the ones we know but like creatures that eat corpses that are left over.

Flora & Environment

More hostile flora

Literally just Pole Plant and Monster Kelp. maybe something like a Venus fly trap. that’d be cool.

Water needed

This one can be changed in the remix if added but maybe you can have the option to drink water and can changed if needed or not. I just think it’s weird that you don’t need hydration but I get why.

Territory markings for lizards

I’ve seen territorial fights but I always wonder which is challenging which. So maybe markings could be put like colored scales.

Lizards and other reptiles shedding

A lizard could be rubbing its body against a wall in order to shed off scales and those can used to trade with scavengers with value of an a spear all the way to a pearl depending on what type of lizard

New Creatures & Variants

More insects

Just smaller insects that aren’t just bat flies.

More peaceful creatures

Like how a Rain Deer won’t hurt and will just leave, more creatures like that or like a lantern mice where they run off.

Titan lizards

(feel free to change the name) Not alphas like for yellow lizards but lizards that are bigger than the average kind and will usually more stronger and dominant, with lizards of that species likely to submit to it (I mean like they just fuck off or let it take it’s territory) depending on their aggression, bravery, nervousness and dominance on both sides.

Vultures

Vulture nests

You can find and raid a vulture nest and either kill and or eat the babies or just find what ever is in there.

Slugcat Ideas

Adult Slugcats can be found after Gourmand’s food quest

These would have different or similar A.I to Slugpups but would be more intelligent and have higher of each personality. and can adopt Slugpups or if your Monk or Survivor maybe try to adopt you and maybe this can lead to a separate ending with the outskirts one for Monk and Survivor. (yes they would be with one if you passage along with the pups)

Colony region

This one is cope for me but once you beat Gourmand and get the slugcat tree ending as Monk or Survivor you can find where they migrated to and it’s close to a paradise where you can feast, sleep, and play with other scugs.

You can also find Gourmand and/or Hunter, Survivor, Monk Rivulet, Arti, or SM depending on which ones you bring to first. Say you bring Survivor there first. Then when you get Hunter there you will see Survivor as well in the cutscenes and gameplay. but if you get Monk and Hunter there then Survivor will see them as well.

Also Hunter, Arti, and SM will be like protectors for the colony. Also depending on if you brought Scugpups they will show up with whoever had them in the other campaign. (You do have to bring them there alive in say a Hunter campaign for them to be in whoever’s campaign)

(Lore be dammed we don’t know Scug opinions on Hunter canonically plus before anyone says anything there is rivulet outer expanse mod. I don’t care about age or if they died or not. it a mod. It’s not official!)

Lastly cuddle piles

In/out of a shelter you can cuddle up with other adults and pups as way to relax.

Rain World Ecosystem mod ideas

So I’m new here so I don’t know if mod ideas are allowed but if so I’m posting maine for Rain World and see if ANYONE wants to make them. all you have too do comment that you want to.

Adult slugcats idea expabded

So in my 2nd post about improving Rain World mode I made one where after Gourmand’s food quest adult slug cats can be found. and I kinda brushed it off to the side. But I realized that along with Scav fights and mate seasons this is one of my favorite ideas. So here are the improvements. (ALSO I HAVE ZERP MODDING EXPERIENCE SO IF YOU WANT THIS OR ANY OF MY IDEAS ASK A MODDER OR A GROUP OF THEM)

A.S’s have similar but more intelligent A.I. to Slugpups along with being able to do all movement abilities that the player can. They will also use stuff like vulture masks and try to tame lizards as well as passages (yes they will travel with you).

Now since they are adults they can also adopt slugpups and if you are Survivor or Monk (and Maybe Hunter?) than they will attempt to adopt you as well as your Slugpups. Along with this comes a new ending with outer expanse where you can actually find the colony. You can also have movements that will be requests. like if you drop a rock in front of them and lay down it’s requesting food, if you put a spear down (along with giving it to them) and hop you are asking for protection, lay down and curl up outside of a shelter means you want home (the colony) and they will attempt to bring you back. you can also let them carry you and hold you like you can with Slugpups. that’s it (please help make this happen modders)
