Had my tilt table test today and I have so many questions??
Had my tilt table test today. (should have done more research, that sucked way more than expected)
I am 19, so technically I had to meet the 40 bpm increase requirement instead of 30bpm. I increased around 34-39 bpm within the first 10 minutes. I hit 40bpm increase in minute 11 or 12.
I didn't faint, so I had to do the full 45 minutes.
I feel like I spiked way less than the poor mans tilt table tests I've done? Is this normal?
My highest heart rate was 142 at 43 minutes but when I've done it at home I've easily reached 160 within the first 10 minutes, heck the first 3 minutes.
The nurse seemed confused, because my heart rate kept going up and down by 20 beats around every minute, getting higher and higher each time. She said pots usually presents as spike and steady high heart rate, without the ups and downs, is that right?
I also feel like she didn't allow my body to get to rest? It was definitly not 10 minutes after laying down before she tilted me, and not more than 5 since she was done connecting the wires, and I was able to properly settle down. Could this have impacted me not spiking like I usually do? I had been standing, walking, and sitting upright for more than an hour before the appointment.
I'm just super confused, because all my symptoms match, and if I went back in 4 months after my birthday I would definitly be in range for the diagnosis. It was also completely unexpected for me to not spike atleast 50 bpm?
My results clearly show something is wrong, but I won't get any answers until at least next week, because the specializing doctor is on holiday. Could this be some other form of OH?
Thank you for reading my very long question filled word vomit, any experiences or answers would be super appreciated.
