I have the authentic windy BGVH from Thailand (bought it last year) but despite many peoples positive reviews its probably one of the worst gloves I’ve used. Not to say theres not some nice things, it seems to dry out quickly and the padding and leather construction is nice and feels high quality and its a classic design.
However, the hand compartment seems huge without really long wraps, and the wrist support feels boxy and lacking. The hand compartment is huge, not just big but huge, i could make a second fist in the knuckle compartment. It is way too wide without huge hand-wraps on and will damage your hand and wrist after extended use if you are a puncher. You might think that it is built this way to help with clinch work, but the actual part of the wrist that needs to move for clinch in the hand is extremely hard to open, so it’s very difficult to use for clinch. The worst part of all is a Velcro failed in like a month of use, its completely useless on one glove (after one punch it falls off) and the other one is almost done too. I mostly go and use my other gloves or tape the velcro and use huge handwraps if i do use this glove.
Is there any way to replace the velcro? What is the cheapest way of doing it?
