Okay, first thing first: I upgraded last week from a Fold 3.
Significantly bigger while Significantly lighter. The camera? The best I've ever seen on an Android and better than my wife's iPhone.
Just feels incredibly sophisticated and futuristic while also giving me nostalgic vibes that of the original Samsung Blackjack i had back in middle school. I'm not articulate enough to describe what I see, but something about the huge front screen and the tiny OG web browser-esque look of the screen format and small character font just feel 2000s coded.
Sure, I'm squinting a bit and I could easily zoom the screen but I'm enjoying the experience so far. I was really looking forward to the unfolded screen after noticing how much larger it is compared to the Fold 3. Turns out, I don't really care for it nearly as much as I thought I would. The front screen is nice. Also, somewhat nostalgic and a bit ofna relief to have a "slab" phone again and not having to always use both hands to text.
Anyways, yes, a few flaws exist -- and I acknowledge some of the highlights are actually updated apps (for example, Google Maps feels incredibly high tech compared to whatever version was on my Fold 3) and not a Samsung upgrade itself --but the pros definitely outweigh them. I've only ever had Samsung phones and this is by far my favorite. I likely sound like a dorky, old-head right now, and I'd like to consider myself very tech savvy but the Fold 7 pleasantly suprised me in many ways and I just thought I'd share the good news to anyone willing to read my post.
*I know the Fold 8 is about to drop and I could've waited a bit longer but my Fold 3 was finally dying. I'll just wait for the Fold 13 or something. I Look forwars to making another big jump in a few years and once again feel joy like I currently am.*
