Small sample size but large Cohens d

Hi!

If I have several parameters that show a moderate - to large effect size but a high p value.. It’s an exploratory study so it’s basically hypothesis-generating for future studies.

For example: Cohens d is 0,64 but the p-value is 0.62. Or Cohens d is 0,88 in another metric and p value is 0.3.

Sample size is n = 13.

I’m unsure how I should manage the data systematically. Would you for example just report all effect sizes over 0.5 regardless of p value? (Nothing in my trial is significant)

I hope my question makes sense. Thanks a lot.

Hi!

If the sample size is very small (n = 13), with n = 7 in group A and n = 6 in group B, and the study compares two different treatments, would it make more sense not to adjust for age and gender in this situation?

Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone!

I’m planning a trip to Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kirgisistan) this summer and would really appreciate some feedback on my itinerary 😊

Flights are already booked (into Tashkent 22/07 and home from Bishkek 05/08), so I’m mainly looking for advice on the route in between.

Current plan:

22/07: Arrive in Tashkent

23/07: Tashkent to Samarkand (evening train)

24/07: Samarkand

25/07: Fly to Almaty

26/07: Almaty city

27/07: Medeu + Shymbulak (+ possibly Big Almaty Lake early morning?)

28/07: Charyn Canyon

29/07: Fly to Bishkek

30/07: Bishkek / Ala Archa National Park

31/07: Song-Kul

01/08: Song-Kul

02/08: Back to Bishkek

03/08: Bishkek

04/08: Bishkek

05/08: Early flight home

I’m mostly interested in nature, landscapes, and some city life.

Thanks a lot in advance 🙏
