My grandmother passed away last fall and, when going through her items, I found my great grandmother’s jewelry box. She had a few different sets with this one being my favorite and probably the one that was in the worst condition as it was covered in verdigris. The set probably sat in the jewelry box for at least 50 years unfortunately. This leads to my first question. I cleaned it with vinegar and got most of the verdigris off but am having problems getting the verdigris that is underneath the white beads. Do any of you have any recommendations on how to get the verdigris out of the difficult spots or would it even be worth it with some of the parts since the metal is really fragile on the one side?

Second part to this is I’ve been attempting to find info on her different pieces of jewelry to learn about her and her jewelry likes at different stages of her life. The piece is unmarked but seems to resemble a few different Coro pieces and my guess is it was probably made during the 50s? I don’t think it’s Coro as there are enough little things from the hook style to the earring back style that point away from Coro plus Coro seemed to be decent with marking their jewelry by the 50s. All this to say I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions or knowledge of the manufacturer and also wondering if my guess on the time period for this piece is valid or should be a later date? Thanks for any help and suggestions and sorry that this post turned out longer than I was originally planning 😓.
