What happened to Hafeez Baoku from The Roommates ?
I used to be a big fan of The Roommates podcast, but over time it really feels like things started going downhill, especially after Hafeez got involved in debates and discussions that, in my opinion, exposed some intellectual blind spots.
Now it looks like he’s deleted his channel, and it makes me wonder what happened behind the scenes. I also noticed he and his co host Chris appear to have unfollowed each other, which has me curious if they had some kind of falling out. I also wonder if he’s had a divorce given he used to post his wife so much and has now deleted all things related to her.
It’s honestly disappointing because I think the podcast originally had solid intentions and genuinely helped a lot of young men. Somewhere along the way, though, it feels like the brand lost its direction.
I also find it ironic that after so much emphasis on “high value” culture and success branding, Chris is now teaching. No shade to teaching at all because it’s a valuable profession, but it does feel like a contrast to a lot of the messaging they pushed.
Anyone else who used to follow them feel like the podcast lost what made it resonate in the beginning?
