Hey everyone, I was diagnosed with severe UC/Crohn’s last July and it’s been pretty rough. I failed Stelara (ustekinumab) and was on prednisone for months, but I’ve finally started seeing improvement over the last 5 months on Skyrizi (risankizumab).

Right now I’m having mostly solid bowel movements and feeling a lot better. My calprotectin dropped from 2300 to 900, so still inflammation but definitely improving. I’ve been able to eat more foods (even some fried/spicy, caffeine, dairy gluten) and it's been fine but I haven’t really tried veggies, red meat, or alcohol yet.

My birthday is next month and I haven’t had alcohol in almost a year. I kind of want to have a drink or two, but I’m honestly scared it could trigger a flare or set me back.

I know everyone’s different, but has anyone had alcohol while still having some inflammation? Did it cause issues or were you okay?

Any experiences would really help, thank you!
