41, history teacher, started learning piano 6 months ago on my daughter's old keyboard. she quit 2 years ago.
i take online lessons through wiingy every week. last week my 11-year-old asked if she could watch my lesson.
my teacher said sure and had her sit next to me. then halfway through she started teaching BOTH of us the same piece, showing my daughter some harmony parts while i played the melody.
now my daughter wants to join my lessons permanently. my teacher says she can make it work if we're both okay with it.
honestly i kind of love the idea but i also don't know if i want my kid watching me struggle through beginner stuff
has anyone done joint lessons with their kids? does it work or is it a disaster waiting to happen?
part of me thinks this could be a cool bonding thing. other part thinks she's going to get frustrated watching her dad be worse than her
