I have no gas at my house and use Economy 7 to heat a Gledhill PulsaCoil 210L thermal store (has two heating elements).

There's a flat roof above where the tank sits. I wondered about getting a few solar panels to boost the tank during the day. Off-grid would be ideal, just treating the tank as a thermal battery.

I've found a few products (MY-PV ELWA, Fothermo ROD-1000) but wondered if there was a cheaper off-grid solution that could be cobbled together?
