Fixing Gear Questions
Hi everyone! Junior Radio Engineer here! The fan for an XDS receiver at the station I work for stopped working and I have a replacement fan from Premier Networks en route (it's their receiver). I've been advised by my mentor (a contract engineer from out of the area who lets me ask questions every now and then) to download the receiver manual and study it before hand. Unplug the unit during a time no programming is coming in, too. And take pictures too, for my own reference, during the process.
This all makes sense and I plan to do it. But it will be the most technical thing I've done so far in my journey in engineering. I wanted to see if the folks in the radio subreddit have any tips or thoughts when it comes to working on gear. Particularly, replacing a fan on a receiver!
