I’m seriously considering a 2018 Bolt with a fairly new battery. The dealer has already gotten a few things wrong an out the car and I’m wondering if this is another.
I had them test the battery and it’s showing 97% health, but it’s only charging to 88% and showing a max of around 190 miles and the dealer is saying it’s due to the software related to the recall. But once the battery is replaced shouldn’t it go back to charging to 100%?
I’ve found some information indicating it might be that the hill reserve is activated or maybe that the battery isn’t charging all the way because it has less than 6,000 miles on it.
Obviously, I’m not looking to lay out the money for this thing if there’s something wrong, but given how they’ve been wrong on a few other things, I’m wondering if that’s what’s happening here.
What do you think is going on here?
