Why I love my Tele

Why I love my Tele

So this is my Squier Affinity Telecaster which I bought second hand around two years ago. With this guitar, I really got into playing electric guitar at age 34. Before that, I was mainly playing acoustic but didn't really get hooked on it. Last year I treated myself and got a Fender Player II Stratocaster, which I tune in Eb and mainly use for, you guessed it, Blues and Blues Rock. I do really like the Stratocaster and it's nice to switch them up. Also, the quality of the Fender Player is obviously better than the Squier, especially the neck of the Fender is really smooth and has a great overall feel to it. The Fender is also lighter than the Squier and maybe sounds a little better. However, apart from that, I (still) prefer playing my Telecaster. The whole pickguard, with pickups and knobs etc, is way less crammed than on the Strat which gives you more space and freedom for your right hand - that way I can really focus on playing rather than not hitting any pieces of the guitar. Also, the Tele's tuning stability is unmatched, obviously. Again, I really like my Strat and the players that I look up to mostly played or play Strats - however so far the Tele suits me a little better. That's why I'm thinking about getting a Fender Tele as well someday... But for now, the Squier it is!
