Considering no UL, wanted to hear experiences from those with and without

I really don’t care that much about standing to pee so I’ve been considering going without UL for that reason. I would want everything else, like scrotoplasty, V-nectomy, the pump, etc. Pros of no UL for me would be less complications, no heightened UTI risk (hopefully?), and no worrying about how the new urethra would look. The only major con is that I can produce precum and I would really like it to come out through my dick. But also, I feel like UL could potentially ruin that by damaging the Skene’s glands, which hopefully would stay intact otherwise.

Wanted to hear from people who got it (or not), if they regret anything or what they would have done differently. Hearing from people who produced precum pre-op would also be cool.

Is Dr. Hill’s GI Biome cat food also good for urinary health?

My 13-year-old boy had his first urinary blockage a couple months ago. He had a long history of tummy issues, most likely IBS. Most food causes vomiting, explosive diarrhea, and blood from straining to poop. After the blockage was cleared, the vet gave me Dr. Hill’s urinary diet but it made his tummy issues really bad and caused him a lot of pain. I asked her if there were any foods that did the job of a urinary diet but were also good for stomach issues and she gave me Dr. Hill’s GI Biome. I’m just checking to see if this is correct. Part of me thinks I might have heard her wrong. I’m hoping I can keep him on this food because it’s the only thing he’s been on that basically solved his stomach issue.

My junk was exposed/touched during a procedure without prior consent and I’m pissed.

CW for the reason stated in the title. Disclaimer that the physical act itself was solely medical, no one doing it had bad intentions. I’m not describing a violent SA. It might still be triggering for people sensitive to that topic.

I got a minor procedure this week and I really wasn’t given a lot of info about it prior (I asked for articles/resources, wasn’t given any). I mostly just did my own research and asked questions when I could. They gave me some misinformation about different things. They didn’t even tell me I would be sedated until about an hour before the procedure; they only ever mentioned local anesthesic. I emailed the patient advocacy department complaining about that and also the subject of this post. I’ll copy-paste that part of it here:

“During the procedure, they had to shave the incision site. Based on my research and seeing where the doctor/resident had gestured when explaining it to me, I assumed the incision would be in my groin area, specifically in between my pubic area and thigh, but mostly on the thigh (I was correct). I assumed a part of my pubic area would need to be visible for the procedure to be done and I was fine with that. No one discussed with me how much my genital area would be visible or touched, and no one told me that the area would need to be shaved prior to the procedure. After the sedatives had completely kicked in, the nurse told me they needed to shave the area, then immediately exposed my genitals. Due to the sedation, I could not verbally protest. I began squirming in an effort to show discomfort, but I was just told to be still. They touched and shaved nearly my entire pubic area, including the side that was not anywhere near the incision site. I felt extremely violated and upset. I have extreme genital dysphoria and I am not comfortable with anyone touching that area under any circumstances. I began crying after the procedure but no one asked what was wrong. I understand this part was necessary for the procedure, but because I was very sedated and not informed about this prior, I was put in a situation where I could not consent to being touched like that.“

I posted about this in other subs and people got salty with me because they misinterpreted and thought I was upset with the nurses for doing what they did. I’m not, they had to do what they had to do, I just feel like I needed to be informed about it before the procedure happened. I would have consented to it if they gave me the chance. If I knew about it before, I would have had time to emotionally prepare. Now I just have cuts all over my crotch from the razor because I was all drugged up and panicking. I haven’t been doing well mentally ever since.
If some people in the medical field could give their thoughts, that would be cool. I just don’t like the idea that it’s normal for docs to expect patients to be fine with being touched like that by surprise.

I had an angiogram done on my leg yesterday. I wasn’t given much information about the procedure at all (I asked for article/resources, but wasn’t given any). I tried to get as much info as possible by researching and asking questions. I asked where the incision would be made and they showed me it would be on my upper thigh. They didn’t tell me I would be sedated for it until an hour before the procedure; they only mentioned local anesthesia before.

After the sedation fully kicked in, one of the nurses told me they had to shave the area and then immediately moved my gown to fully expose my genitals. I was too sedated to protest verbally. I started squirming in an attempt to show discomfort but they just told me to stay still. They touched and shaved nearly my entire pubic area. I felt extremely violated and upset. I started crying after the procedure as they wheeled me out but no one expressed any concern.

I posted in another sub but people misunderstood and thought I was upset about the shaving itself or thought that the docs/nurses had bad intentions. I don’t. If it had to be done for the procedure then it had to. I don’t think the people who did that did anything wrong really. I’m just really surprised and angry that no one informed me about this beforehand. I have extreme discomfort over my genitals being looked at or touched by anyone, and if I was informed about it before, I could have emotionally prepared.

It’s because I’m so incompetent and unlikable. Sometimes I just quit after a week or a day. At some point someone, usually my boss/supervisor, will get mad at me or start to hate me. Sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it happens after a few weeks. But after it happens I start to wake up for work with this primal fear, like I’m waiting for something to come and kill me. And I go into work feeling like that, which makes me mess up even more and say even dumber things. I can’t try to win them over because the fear paralyzes me too much for me to attempt to be charming. And then they’ll start to hate me even more. Without fail, it gets worse and worse until it spreads and everyone at work starts to hate me. It starts to feel like I’m in a hell that was specially designed to constantly keep me as horrified and humiliated as possible. It has the same effect on my nervous system as if all my coworkers were trying hunt me down and kill me slowly and painfully. I always try to push through and wait it out but it never gets better, it only festers and gets monstrously worse. I never have any choice but to quit. It feels like the terror will actually kill me if I don’t. But then it happens over and over and over again. Everyone thinks I’m a loser for not being able to hold down a job, and I am. I’ve been financially supported by my dad for forever and he’s starting to resent me for it. I can’t explain it to him, he’s never understood my anxiety. I can’t get disability for this (even if that would actually help with how things are right now) because “I feel like people don’t like me” doesn’t sound like a good excuse to anyone. It’s not just social anxiety, it’s something else. I have friends with social anxiety and they don’t understand it either. It’s always been like this. It’s either because I was born with a fucked up nervous system, or I’m just incompetent to an incredible level, or both, and either way there’s no real solution.

My boy (13) has had tummy issues for a really long time. Specifically diarrhea, vomiting, and blood in stool which seems to be from straining (it’s bright red and always comes out in small amounts at the end of his poops). I finally found some food that really works for him (Dr. Hills Science Diet GI Biome, dry kibble). He’s been on it for a couple months and stopped vomiting, and his poops are finally at a normal consistency, not too hard or soft. I’ve been watching him more closely lately and noticed that he’s still been straining and passes a small squirt of blood when he finishes. What could be causing this? All his tests have come up normal, the vets’ best guess is IBS.

Med history: Fleas/sensitive skin, recent urinary blockage, recent tooth extraction from dental disease, vet said he seems healthy and well-hydrated.
