Visa TN as a Mexican Software Engineer
Hi everyone,
I’m a Computer Engineering graduate from UNAM in Mexico with 6+ years of experience in software development and DevOps, and I’ve recently been exploring the TN visa path to work legally in the U.S.
I wanted to ask people who already went through this process:
- What are your favorite platforms/websites to find TN-friendly jobs from Mexico?
- What was the correct process for you to get hired under a TN visa?
- Did you apply directly from Mexico or while already in the U.S.?
- How did you explain the TN visa process to recruiters/employers?
- Has anyone here successfully obtained a TN visa with a Computer Engineering degree or similar STEM background?
I’ve been applying through LinkedIn and Indeed, but I feel many recruiters confuse TN with H1B sponsorship.
I’d really appreciate hearing real experiences, tips, mistakes to avoid, or strategies that actually worked for you.
Thanks and greetings from Mexico!
