I updated my magnetic printhead cover for the Anycubic Kobra S1 and added a Pogo-Pin connection for the model cooling fan.
The original idea is still the same: the stock front cover is held in place by plastic clips, and while that works fine at first, it becomes annoying if you remove the cover regularly for nozzle changes or general maintenance. Those clips will eventually wear out or snap. That already happened to me twice, so I wanted a more practical solution.
The rear cover is still mounted with screws like the stock part, while the front cover is attached magnetically. This makes it much easier to remove and reinstall the front cover without constantly stressing the original clip system.
With this update, the model cooling fan is now connected through Pogo-Pins. That means the front cover can be removed without unplugging the fan cable every time. The other connections stay as they are on the original printer and still use the stock plugs.
If you already printed my previous magnetic cover, you do not need to print everything again. The back cover can still be used. You only need the updated parts for the Pogo-Pin version.
It still improves access to the nozzle, makes maintenance easier, and, at least in my opinion, looks a lot better too. And yes, that was definitely still part of the motivation.
Just a quick update: the mod is finished and I’ll be uploading it to Makeronline soon. I still want to check a few final details before releasing it, but it should be available in the near future.
