I have a 2021 Rubicon that I adore. This thing is my dream vehicle. It started with a tick just out of warranty that I thought was just normal valve noise from what I initially researched with a friend. Now I’m misfiring at high RPMs and then rough idling at subsequent stop. I know it’s the rockers and resultant camshaft lobe damage (must be from the googling I did). The tick is stronger and from the passengers side only. Scanned the misfire after the check engine light came on and it’s a cylinder 1 misfire code.

I am motivated to undertake this myself. This jeep is not my daily driver so I have the advantage of time.

I am mechanically inclined but have never done anything timing related and it spooks the crap out of me. I really love this Jeep and can’t fathom spending thousands at the dealership.

Can anyone recommend any good videos on the project I can watch and commit to memory as I plan this project?
