Narrators for LitTPG
I listen to audio books. Some narrators bring a fresh life and vibrancy to the story. A new favourite for me is Steve Campbell.. his narration of Mayhem by Aaron Oster is genius. He sounds appropriately sounds excited, angry, and even his delivery of stats is perfect, dull quick mention of the dull ones, wonder or interest at the interesting ones. His delivery always fits the story and he brings it to life beautifully.
Some narrators, though good really aren't suited to Litrpg in my opinion. In this boat I would put Christian Gilland's narration of the resonance cycle by Aaron Renfoe. The narrator has a slow dull delivery. His voice is sounds mature and refined, he would do well narrating intellectual thrillers, but its not right for Litrpg. His delivery makes all the fun stuff in the book dull and boring. Every so often he does a weird emphasis on odd words in a sentence. He gets a bit better if you persevere past the first chapter, but no enough for me to keep listening. This is the third book this month that I've not made past the opening chapters due to the narration. Apollos thorne Heavenly Laws narration is also bad, but apollos thorne body cultivator narration is really good.
This made me think. What narrators for LitRPG would people recommend, and what narrators would you advise me to avoid.?
