To preface this, I'm not the biggest fan of turn based games. I've nothing against them, I just don't vibe with them most of the time. I figured I'd give BG3 a try since so many of my friends recommended it.
Starting off, I really like the story, and it's the main reason I want to stick with this game. I want to find out where it's all going, and learn more about the characters.
What I'm having trouble with is the combat. I can't seem to go through a single combat encounter without needing a short rest. I picked Barbarian since it was the first option and I figured it would be the easiest to learn. Now I spend my first turn just getting to who I want to hit, my special moves don't seem that much more powerful than my regular swings, and my berserk doesn't seem to make a difference either.
All of this while being on the easiest difficulty.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or some trick I've yet to learn? I really want to see this game through, but it just hasn't clicked with me much at all on the gameplay side of things.
