I have a CEC PR application in with IRCC. I have applied for BOWPs for myself and my common law spouse, as of April 1. Our current IEC visas expire June 6th, and we have received the letters to confirm we are on maintained status. The problem we have, is that we really want to get home for a wedding out of the country on June 5th (but if we leave, we lose maintained status and have no status on reentry). My dad also recently had open heart surgery, and I would really like to get home to see him.
The summary position really is:
- PR application is in, AOR received in March
- BOWPs are being processed, no movement since the letter of maintained status was issued
- I have applied for an IEC on another passport, and I'm waiting to hear back on the LOE (this will be a super expensive route, to pay for the travel insurance again for IEC)
My question: has anyone ever looked to contact IRCC on BOWPs, and successfully expedited the process? The last time I was back home was for a funeral in October which really really sucked, and I just really want to go back for something happy, to see and celebrate friends. The cost of flights keep increasing and I'm anxious that I amn't doing anything other than waiting at the minute.
