Hey everyone,
I have a timber fence that had some old weathered stain/oil on it (mix of gray and brown patches). I have started to pressure wash it pretty thoroughly to remove the loose old layer and grime before applying a fresh bucket of decking timber oil. My dad said I may have taken off the protective sealant on the timber so now I’m worried.

Did I do the right thing? Or was that old stuff protective and I shouldn’t have stripped it? The wood feels a bit rougher/fuzzier in spots now. Cheers
