I'm currently in my first term in the USAF just to get a foothold in the military. Currently an A1C but teetering on a bunch of options after my first term is up. Looking for info on if after my enlistment I could separate and enroll in NROTC to pursue a career in aviation and if it's worth taking that path, or just cross training into something I prefer and stay enlisted. And if I were to take the college ROTC path post-enlistment, would my years already down count towards my retirement/ prior E grade? Are there more preferred pathways to officer-dom in the navy?
