Native to my area lives the Western Banded gecko. If I were to keep one of these geckos, could it be better to keep them in an outdoor enclosure, provided the airflow to the outside is good, no moisture can accumulate, and there are plenty of shaded areas? I have heard that the care requirements for Western Bandeds are otherwise pretty similar to Leopard geckos. What other considerations are there for outdoor enclosures? I was thinking about building an enclosure with reptile enclosure screening. Any help is appreciated.
