It’s the kind of sleep
that makes you wish 
you never have to wake,
the kind of dream
that makes you think 
you have lived.

My dreams only come true
in dreams,
and I have felt things there
my waking self would envy.

I wipe her memory clean
and don't let her sleep,
hoping she can finally find some peace
but her ache never leaves.
