I have DND enabled for years on my phone and even though it barely ever works, uninstalling truecaller reduced the spam calls to a certain extent.
I have recently installed TRAI app as well to report the incoming spam calls (mainly from random banks for cc and loans) and it feels like at least something is happening.
The issue remains for WhatsApp messages. I always report and block if the promotional messages don’t stop after sending STOP or turning off the offers toggle but they just keep cropping up from new numbers. Is there a way to report these brands to TRAI or any other authority?
It’s honestly very annoying and it feels like the consumers are being taken for granted. The brands we never used still somehow find our numbers and feel it’s absolutely appropriate to fill our inbox with promotional spam, like that is the one thing that will make us buy from them.
