Help me plan my trip?!
Hi everyone!
This is my first reddit post ever... I hope this is allowed?
I'm from the US, and I'm a huge broadway fan. I recently told my husband in a random conversation that I have a broadway bucket list - and two of the items on the list are seeing a show in the West End and seeing Phantom of the Opera. He also knows that I'm a huge Jonathan Groff fan.
He just told me this morning that my 40th birthday gift is a trip to London to see Phantom in the West End, and to also to see JG in As You Like It. I AM ECSTATIC. (He also informed me that it my gift was between a Dyson Air Wrap Hair Dryer and this trip. He obvi made the right choice).
Because he wasn't sure of my schedule, he didn't book anything and told me to book it however I want to. I'll be going with my sister, aunt, and cousin - and we are looking for some help to plan the travel! I know that AYLI requires travel from London, so I just want to make sure we are doing it the best/easiest way.
We have 5 nights to work with, and part of those nights would need to fall on a weekend. We are currently looking at dates around the first weekend of October - but could be swayed to move the dates for a compelling reason.
Some questions I have are:
What's the best way to travel from London to RSC?
Where do you recommend staying, in both places
How much time do we need in each place?
In addition to Phantom and AYLI, what else should I be seeing?
Where should we eat? We all LOVE food and do not want to get stuck in tourist traps
What else should I know that I wouldn't know or think to ask?!?!
I will take any advice, info, insight, thoughts, questions, comments, concerns. THANK YOU!
