In the Sharran Temple in act 2, Shadowheart says in order for her to become a Dark Justiciar, Sharrans have to complete the trials and kill the nightsong with the spear of night.

But how does that work because if someone kills the Dame Alyin, since it’s proven that the spear of night kills her permanently how are there multiple past dark justiciars? She can’t die permanently multiple times?

The only way that this makes sense to me is that perhaps each dark justicicar candidate has a different task given to them by shar but even that doesn’t make much sense because I feel like i remember shadowheart saying something along the lines of “this is the only way someone can be a dark justiciar”?
