For background: My husband and I️ are finally planning to get pregnant soon. I️’ve worked in infants / toddlers since high school (a little over 10 years) and am currently an infant lead with 16 on roster.
I️ KNOW this is gonna hit different at 3am when they won’t sleep, 4am when we’re awake for the day, whenever our friends can drop everything to go out and we can’t : I’m very aware of the universally stressful parts trust me!
But do yall feel like having huge class numbers made you a little numb and overall more patient when it came to having your own? I️ hear a lot of my parents say how bad their weekend was just because they had to take their kid to the playground or spend time with them. I️ had a parent today tell me they wish daycare teachers could come with them for vacation and they weren’t looking forward to it at all.
I️ guess my question is- is it really going to be THAT BAD or does working in infants kind of train your threshold for having a sometimes extremely disagreeable infant attached to you 24/7 to not phase you quite as much? Obviously it’s going to be hard and stressful and some moments will make me cry lol I️’m not naive to all that. But our background has to count for SOMEEEEETHING right???
